Rybalsky є новим типом забудови для Києва, який покликаний відновити статус столиці як міста, що має тісний контакт із водою, створити мережу публічних просторів, з’єднати півострів з Подолом та центром міста.
Rybalsky is the new type of development in Kiev, which is created to restore the status of the capital as a city that has close contact with water, to create a network of public spaces, connect the peninsula with Podil and city center. This definition will allow us to deduce four postulates of the Concept.
Наразі Рибальський достатньо безлюдний. Активізувати пустий простір не має сенсу, то ж нам потрібно покликати людей. Кияни досі не реагували на півострів, бо він з ними не спілкувався. Ми маємо змогу поспілкуватися з ним в точках прийняття рішень [decision point]. Саме в цих місцях пішохід приймає рішення про наступний крок свого маршруту. Кожен шлях повинен мати ціль і пішоходи повинні мати причину йти на Рибальський. Тому пропонуємо створити якірні функціональні зони. Наявність цих зон в протилежних частинах Рибальського стимулюватиме пішохідний трафік з кожної із сторін, за виключенням сходу.
At the moment, Rybalsky is quite isolated. There is no sense in activating the empty space, so we need to attract people. The citizens of Kiev still did not react to the peninsula, because it didn't communicate with them. We have the opportunity to chat with them at the decision points. At these places pedestrian makes a decision about the direction of his route. Each route should have a specific destination point and pedestrians should have a reason to visit Rybalsky peninsula. Therefore, we suggest creating anchor functional zones. The presence of these zones in opposite parts of Rybalsky will stimulate pedestrian traffic from each side, except for the east.

Західне узбережжя Рибальського півострова несе відбиток промислової епохи. Ризик полягає у тому, що така спадщина не асоціюється з ідеалістичними пляжами на узбережжі океану. Та ми пропонуємо не спотворювати історію, приховуючи правду під декораціями. Навпаки — гіперболізуймо промислову ідентичність і насиплемо терикони з піску, які стануть радикальною альтернативою класичному пляжу. Таке незвичне рішення стимулюватиме інтерес жителів до середовища, в якому вони існують, провокуючи їх на взаємодію.
The western coast of the Rybalsky peninsula is a reflection of the industrial age. The risk is that such inheritance is not associated with the idealistic beaches on the ocean coast. But we propose not to mask the history, hiding the truth under the decorations. On the contrary — we will hyperbole the industrial identity and fill the terricones, that will become a radical alternative to the classic beach. Such an unusual solution will stimulate the interest of the inhabitants to the environment in which they exist, provoking them to interact.
Дніпро, друг | The Dnipro river, friend
Пропонуємо створити антропогенний ландшафт, що буде переважно занурений у товщу води на кшталт природних порогів. Скрізь вздовж набережної виростають і занурюються глиби каміння. Стикаючись з перешкодами, вода то пришвидшується, то сповільнює рух. Голос Дніпра то гримає своєю первозданною силою, то журкотить немов ледь чутний шепіт. Встановлюється діалог між людино та природою. Ризик послизнутися та впасти змушує людей активізувати увагу, пристосовуватися до нових умов співіснування. Дніпро перестає бути чимось ефемерним, він дарує реальний досвід контакту з водою.
Наша пропозиція — прищепити людям більш поважне ставлення до річки, давши їм можливість ближче познайомитися з Дніпром.
We suggest creating an anthropological landscape, which will be predominantly immersed in the thickness of the water, such as natural water threshold. The blocks of stones are surrounded by the water on the different levels everywhere along the embankment. Facing the obstacles, water flow accelerates and slows down. Sometimes the voice of the river thunders with its natural strength, then it sounds like a barely audible whisper. It establishes a dialogue between man and nature. The risk of slipping and falling makes people to intensify their attention, adapt themselves to new conditions of coexistence. The Dnipro river ceases to be something ephemeral, it gives a real experience of contact with water.
Парк відповідального громадянина | Park of the responsible citizen
«Посади дерево, збудуй дім, вирости сина»
Продовжуючи ідею відповідальності кожного жителя Рибальського за окреме дерево, пропонуємо наступну концепцію громадського парку. На існуючу структуру парку, накладаємо схему генерального плану усього Рибальського, отже отримаємо невеликі палісадники, кожен з яких відповідає реальному кварталу у житловому районі. Жителі кварталів несуть відповідальність за виділену їм ділянку.
«Plant a tree, build a house, grow up a son»
Continuing the idea of responsibility of every inhabitant of Rybalsky for a separate tree, we propose the following concept of a public park. We impose a scheme of the general plan of the whole Rybalsky on the existing structure of the park, so we receive small gardens, each of which corresponds to the real quarter in a residential area. Residents of neighborhoods are responsible for the allocated garden. Such a game on the scale of the entire district will speed up the establishment of good-neighborly relations, as well as tell the story of Rybalsky peninsula.

Канал є життєутворюючим елементом півострова. Наявність води треба підкреслити. Ми створюємо різноманітні елементи вуличного дизайну, які спонукають до дій, до знайомства з Дніпром. Так, посередині кварталу пропонуємо встановити гідравлічні платформи-острови. Вони будуть одночасно відображенням гри й ризику. Можна перейти на інший бік, начебто нічого не загрожує; а можна й не робити цього. Бажання перетнути вироблятиме адреналін та посмішку у тих, хто сміливіший за інших. Гідравлічні платформи можуть підійматися на різну висоту. Взимку це можна використовувати для спуску на замерзлий канал для ковзання по ньому. Платформа може зануритися під час навігації катерів.
The canal is a life-forming element of the peninsula. The presence of water should be emphasized. We create a variety of street design elements that provoke action to explore the Dnipro. We suggest installing hydraulic platforms in the middle of the block. They will simultaneously reflect the game and the risk. You can pass to the other side, as if there are no threats; and you can not. The desire to cross the canal will produce adrenaline and a smile for those who are more courageous than others. Hydraulic platforms can be set at different heights. In winter, they can be used for descend on a frozen canal to slip on it. The platform can immerse when the boats are navigating.
Тематичний дитячий майданчик | Theme playground
На західній частині Рибальского створимо величезний дитячий майданчик із радіусом до 1600 дітей. Артефакти з історії перетворимо на ігрові елементи. Дитина зможе пізнавати історію власного краю граючи.
We will create a huge children's playground with a radius of up to 1600 children on the western part of Rybalsky. Artifacts from history are turned into game elements. During the game the child will be able to learn the history of his own homeland.
